It felt good. I had the same shot before the game. Ironically, I practiced it like 50 times before the game.

Usually in a game like this you're hopeful for one good shot at a pitcher like Pedro. And we got that in the sixth inning. We couldn't ask for any better chance than we had there, with the people we had coming to the plate. We got nothing out of it.

I don't think he's retiring. He's got a couple more years ... as long as he can scream from 90 feet away. You've got to respect a guy who wants the best out of you.

[Last spring when calls were made for Chaney to be fired], that hurt me. I thought, 'How can you do this to a man who has done so much for this university?' It still hurts to this day.

Honestly, I don't think it's his last year. Coach Chaney will quit when he wants to quit. He'll have to get rolled out of here before he quits. As long as coach Chaney is alive and can yell at me from 90 feet away, he'll be here for a couple of years.
