It gave our kids confidence that they could play with some great players and teams.

We feel like our kids are winners. We know if we play our game, we'll win. If we're consistent, we'll win. If we don't, we'll lose. It's that simple.

This was big. To lose seven kids from last year, and have a bunch of sophomores step in and play. That's outstanding. I can't say enough about the effort.

We hit the ball extremely well from top to bottom. The kids came to play today. ...Our first five are real solid. But our six, seven, and eight hitters hit the ball well today, too. We saw the ball well and we hit it well.

It's not that we're better coaching; we are just executing better. When you add the right wrinkles and kids play better, it looks like you got a lot of things going on.

I like how our young kids stepped up today. It was nice to see them play with as much confidence as they did. This was a good first game to get under our belts.
