It has always been the goal of the city to create a first-class facility that equals those across the state. We want to do it. We want to do it right. We want to have something that Orangeburg and the surrounding area can be proud of.

(My hope is) for it to be a first-class facility that will serve the citizens of Orangeburg and Orangeburg County while also being a facility that will attract teams from all over the Southeast to play on our fields, use our hotels and eat at our restaurants. (It) is going to be a definite economic benefit to the community.

We had looked at a number of areas before. We were fortunate enough to become involved with the Y and their dreams. This location was excellent and we just feel very fortunate we were able to work something out and secure the property.

It is my hope that we would be under construction ... by the beginning of the summer.

We just want to get this thing over. We've been going to this place and that all week. We just want to get out on the court and play.
