It is a deliberate attempt to undermine the new Palestinian Cabinet and prime minister.

The Syrian track is frozen, the Lebanese track is frozen and the Palestinian track is frozen. That's the situation now.

And, once again, we reiterate, we don't condone the killings of Israeli civilians -- or Palestinian civilians for that matter.

We have always condemned attacks targeting civilians, whether Palestinian or Israelis. Such attacks harm Palestinian interests. We call upon all Palestinians to abide by the cessation of violence.

President Bush speaks of a Palestinian state (with) the June 1967 borders. Sharon is repeating what he said a year ago, the old stuff, the broken record of a long-term interim solution, 40 percent of the West Bank and 70 percent of the Gaza Strip. This will not fly.

This attack just adds to the complexities of the situation and harms Palestinian interests. It's an attempt to sabotage attempts to move ahead with a peace process and I think it could also hurt the elections.
