It is hard not to see the theological overtones in the movie... Beauty, goodness, love and devotion are all part of nature, built into the DNA of the universe.

Don't be a flower. Don't be a flower picked just for beauty. be a flower that grows. That grows with wisdom, and patience. Grow in your own way. Because when you pick a flower for its beauty soon it will wilt and die, loose its beauty and never be loved again. So grow wild.

Seek goodness and be goodness. Seek beauty and be beauty. Seek love and be love.

Romantic lovers require from each other at least the facade of reason: We desire to be what romantic love makes us appear in the other's eyes. We want to imagine we are deserving of the love we inspire.

How goodness heightens beauty!

Mothers are the people who love us for no good reason. And those of us who are mothers know it's the most exquisite love of all.
