It just felt like the right thing to do to give back to a state school and public school. I'm a really big fan of public education.

I was home-schooled. My mom wasn't a fan of public school systems.

Restoring a person's ability to achieve success when they leave the prison walls promotes public safety, builds our economy and, most importantly, is the right thing to do.

Doing the right thing has power.

'She's Gotta Have It' and 'School Daze,' I really didn't know what I was doing. And the biggest indicator of that was the acting. 'Do the Right Thing' was like the first film where I really felt comfortable working with actors.

And for the team, I always tried to do the right thing.
