It really didn't affect us. We were really motivated after that happened. We were just ready to play and ready to get it started.

Last year, I came in as a freshman just hoping to play and I had a good season. This year, I know that everyone expects me to do certain things, but I try not to think about it. I just go out there with a fresh mind and hopefully have a good game day by day.

It's a rivalry and everybody wants to come out and see Dwyer and Lakes play. When they beat us earlier, that was the first time I'd lost to them since I was a freshman and I didn't want to lose twice to them my senior year.

They gave us every opportunity to come back. Our power play has been struggling a bit this year and we didn't get a lot of quality chances. We're happy with the effort but not the result.

That play was huge for us. Brett was throwing the ball real well. That really set the tone for the game for us.

It gives us a chance to come together as a team before we play. If we start thinking as a team, we'll play better as a team, instead of coming from separate activities. It gave us a chance to regroup before we try to do something with us. It's nice. It gets us in the right mind-set and kind of gets us to relate to each other.
