It took a surgery to get me here.

It was basically complications from surgery, and that really got scary. At that point, that was my third reconstruction, my second on my right knee. It required four more surgeries to clean [the infection] up. At one point last year, it was doubtful I would play. I had great doctors.

We came out tonight against their ace [Schmidt] and took it to them. That's what we'll need to do in the postseason. We'll take our chances with our guys.

Economics is not brain surgery.

She was rescued by her neighbors and hospitalized. Friends accompanied her during surgery and contributed blood. Her recovery took several months. She didn't let bitterness hold her back. She resumed teaching and studying international affairs.
