It used to be if you worked hard and the company prospered, you prospered, ... Now, the company prospers -- but you lose your job.

When I go meet with a company that's No. 1--a Microsoft or Cisco or SAP--one of the things I hear a lot is how mean it is out there. Being No. 1 these days means you become the natural target.

Back in the late '90s, I put together a humorous newsmagazine program called 'The Awful Truth' for Bravo. We helped one guy get an organ transplant whose insurance company had refused to pay. I thought, if we could save a guy's life in a 10-minute segment on cable, what could we do if we devoted a whole movie to a whole bunch of people?

We want to be the hometown company of choice, ... and that is how we plan to compete and succeed.

This is unusual for them. They're the gas company. They like to slam-dunk things.
