It was a big point of pride in this community.

This is about pride. This is about pride in your community, which is something we don't do a lot of in Yakima.

I take pride in what we did for the community with our requests. We always wish we could do more, but any recognition is progress. My main hope is that whatever we accomplished with the park won't distract from the principles behind it. A park is just a place. We need to keep Dr. King's dream alive by continuing to recognize the diversity of the people who live in this area.

We immediately felt the warmth and pride of this community. [I] felt even stronger that if I was given the opportunity by Dr. Geoffroy that it'd be one I felt was the right place and the right time.

This place will be a point of pride for the whole community.

It is really amazing how much community pride surrounds this facility. This building signifies Dublin. People recognize it and know they are in Dublin. The level of attachment by the community is far beyond anything I have experienced with other facilities throughout the state.
