It was a marvelous script. ... It's a beautifully framed movie, it's beautifully cast and wonderfully acted.

You cannot read my script and look at that movie, and not get that they took everything from it, ... I'm not saying that two people can't have a concept about a barbershop, but when you have the exact same characters, the exact same plot, that's going a little bit more than just having a general idea.

I was excited to do a movie like this because the part is done for you. It's a beautifully-written character. A lot of times you're making it up as you go.

Without a good (script) you can't make a good movie.

You can only get that cast by either paying for them or having a good script. And we didn't have any cash.
