It was a typical first game. We had some trouble getting the ball over the plate, and we made some mistakes [in the field]. John really sparked us with a big night. He was responsible for the win.

I don't believe until this came up anybody had gone to the trouble of checking name by name (for dead voters). Frankly, it was only a question of time that this was going to show up.

Hall is a good Christian boy, never any trouble, ... I've known the whole family for years. I'm shocked, completely shocked. I just don't know what's going to happen. These are good people.

He was a bad kid. He would get himself in trouble hitting people.

He's got a couple fingers that are pretty sore. Nothing's swollen, but he's having trouble bending them. If he's still having trouble tomorrow, he'll probably go see the doctor. Hopefully nothing's broken and we can get him back in the lineup.

We're looking for Crowe, Wagner, Shelburne and Tingle to all have good a year. But it's going to take a while for some of these younger guys -- like Matthews, Siegel, Layton and all -- to get used to varsity pitching.
