It was a unique experience. Obviously, the notoriety of the Unabomber case is something that will be attached to me because I was there. There have been other cases, in my view, that have been just as significant.

We have caught the very smart (criminals) who thought they were smarter than the rest of us, as well as those who couldn't commit a crime if they studied it. I've had a lot of satisfying cases, where we caught fugitives who had been gone for a long time and people who hurt other people. You get a sense of professional satisfaction from serving the public.

It was a very emotional moment. I never dreamed I would experience something like that.
