It was a very windy day, so having each competitor break five minutes in their leg of the relay was an accomplishment.

To do what he did in the mile and then come back and run the fastest leg on that relay (was very impressive).

I was really pleased with those guys. Winning discus at that meet is a huge accomplishment. We have a great deal of respect for the throwing program at Carman- Ainsworth, so to beat their discus relay team is a tremendous achievement for our kids and for Mr. Bernie Coughlin who volunteers his time to work with them each day after school.

The fact that he is continuing to improve is awesome. Throwing 49-6 is unbelievable. Fifty feet here he comes. That's all I have to say.

Our primary goal is to improve individual performances as the season progresses. Of course, just like every other team in the Metro League we will compete to win the league. Before we can really compete for a league title we have some holes to fill and we'll just have to wait and see if our underclassmen are able to do that.

It's like running a relay race. You're on your last leg and the judges suddenly say 'Stop.' You lose your momentum.
