It was an eye-opening experience. This is the first national level competition [for us].

It's a very difficult thing to sing and dance at the same time. Show choir is not at all what you think of when you think of choir. It's a lot of energy.

They now have a completely different perspective of what is possible. Now that they have an understanding of what it takes to be the best, we set our sights on being more competitive at that level.

The competition went well. We could have done better, but it was a fun experience for us both.

That's prepared us for this situation. This is what we drill for. It's nothing new. We just have to persevere and find a way to get it done and make some plays.

We go there for experience. We get them competition experience and try to give them some incentive to keep working hard.
