It was only when we stepped on to the basketball court when we paid attention to the media and whatever was being said about us by everyone. When we went back to the hotel, it was about our personal life and about enjoying ourselves.

They say every village in Oaxaca, like Chiapas, has a basketball court. Sometimes there's not much else there.

They're great kids and I feel fortunate to have been able to coach them. Not only are they good basketball players, they're great kids and they deserve everything that they've gotten. They all had different roles on the team but no one person's role was more important than the others.

Honestly, with me, as long as I have a park to play basketball in, I'm pretty cool.

When it comes to helping out, I don't believe in doing it for the media attention. My goal is to support the organizations that need help.

It shifted attention away from that and I've never been someone who liked the attention from the media anyway.
