It was surreal. I was surprised, excited, just overwhelmed.

I just love the people of San Marcos. I just want to be more involved with this growing community. I want to have a voice here.

They were very surprised, and I think they were a little overwhelmed by the response. They seemed to be humble, down-to-earth folks. They were ever so thankful, couldn't thank us enough. You felt like you did the right thing for the right folks.

I was really surprised to see my name on the Hermann Trophy watch list, ... I am excited. It is such a prestigious award and I hope I can live up to the expectations of being associated with that group of players.

It was all a little surreal.
