It was ugly -- 12 turnovers in the first quarter. I don't know if we got into the holiday fudge early or what, but it brought back visions of last year. I give (Reynolds) credit -- they played well. We also helped them, though.

End of the first quarter, beginning of the second, we let down (defensively). We overemphasized our concentration on Crocker and Peterson, and it took us out of our help defense. Our rotation was off. It was my fault. Eng wasn't part of our defensive game plan.

There are no ugly wins.

a) I can’t believe I actually ever said that. b) Which, of course, isn't to say that I do have any power over fudge. Particularly if it has nuts.

In the first half and early in the third quarter, our defensive rotation was a little slow. Aledo has one of the most potent offenses in the Olympic Conference, but if your rotation is good, then they can be stopped. If your rotation is not good, then they will cause you a lot of problems, and that's what happened to us.

There was certainly shopper excitement early on, but it wasn't sustained. Clearly their Black Friday strategy worked. But their holiday was modestly disappointing as they went on.
