It wasn't until I went to Korea out of high school and got exposed to the martial arts for the first time and was just completely enamored with the physical ability of the martial arts and making my black belt.

I started training in martial arts when I was 7 years old. I got my first black belt at 13.

Martial arts was really the first thing in my life that I followed through on and accomplished a degree of proficiency for.

I grew up doing martial arts, and I'm a second-degree black belt.

A black belt is nothing more than a belt, a piece of cloth. Your ultimate goal should not be to get your black belt. Your ultimate goal should be to be a black belt. Being a black belt is a state of mind, a way of life.

For me, the martial arts is a search for something inside. It's not just a physical discipline.
