It's not easy to have the job of president. It's not easy to run for it. And it's not a job for the feint of heart.

I don't know if you remember this, but I had a job prior to president, I was the governor of a border state. And my pledge to the people of California is that the federal government will work closely with the state government and local government to provide assets, manpower, detention space, to do our duty, and that is to make sure this border of ours is secure.

But you know, it's not easy when your husband runs for president. I mean, it's not easy for me. I'm sure it's not easy for her. There's a lot of scrutiny on families that isn't always wanted.

I think the president is going to wait until John Roberts is confirmed before he nominates the next person, ... As a woman myself, I hope it will be a woman.

I think all of those remarks were disgusting, to be perfectly frank. Of course President Bush cares about everyone in our country.
