It's a beautiful spot and it's a shame people can't get to it. If we wouldn't have been persistent, we wouldn't have found it.

I'm heartbroken that they're going to close that ramp. It's a very nice lake, and it's a shame what's happening.

Isn't it a shame that future generations can't be here to see all the wonderful things we're doing with their money?

Blacks in America want to forget about slavery -- the stigma, the shame. That's the wrong move. If you can't be who you are, who can you be? How can you know what to do? We have our history. We have our book, which is the blues. And we forget it all.

It's a shame people would stoop to this kind of thing. We have to look at these crimes and see if there is anything else we can do.

Well it is a darn shame we have to have something bad happen to get people interested, but that's kind of what it takes. And if there's any benefit at all from disasters outside of our area, it would be that, that other people say well it could happen to me.
