It's about trying to revive our community, its artists and our museum. Like so many other museums, residences and businesses around here, we suffered some damage from the storm.

We're trying to make our message as clean and simple while providing a great supplement to our courthouses, museums and other attractions.

We want to encourage younger art fans, 21 and up, to come out for a night of dancing and for a chance to appreciate some great art.

We've scaled back the gala. We were very hesitant at first to host it this year, but thought it would be best to press on, keep our heads up and keep moving forward.

It's going to be a really good time. A chance to put on your party clothes, have some wine, listen to some great music, eat some great food and enjoy some beautiful art.

I'd like it to be higher, ... but there are an awful lot of museums in this country and around the world that would be pleased to have even half that attendance. I think it's a very respectable number. I'd like to have a thousand people a day going through there, but it could get a little bit jammed. We don't have a huge space, but it's a respectable size. It is what it is. What I'd really like to see is a higher percentage of our visitors being local and not tourists.
