It's almost overwhelming, the number of people who have come by to help. People have literally come out of the woodwork to help. Of course, if it was the other way around, we'd be right there to help. It's just strange to be on the receiving end of it.

It doesn't look that bad from the outside. But inside, the water damage is incredible. The fire department was just awesome. After the fire was out, they went in and pulled down family pictures and moved wood furniture to less wet places and put tarps over it.

We went to church Sunday morning, because that's our home, too.

We're all fine, and that's the most important thing. The rest is stuff, it's all just stuff.

It's a practical example of how the Internet can help make traffic flow more smoothly just by giving people access to up-to-date information. If it means some people slightly delay or re-route their trip, then it makes life a lot easier and less stressful for commuters.

This is a tough hill, and the conditions didn't help. I had a little mental blip at the top of the second run. I was riding the course instead of attacking it, which is what the top guys did.
