It's an honor to win. I can go places just by being Youth of the Year for Indian River County and it opens more doors for me in the community.

To be able to lead (Richmond's bid) was just a real honor. For someone that remembers watching Richard Petty and David Pearson duel in 1969, that was pretty cool ... I'm excited about that still. That's the feeling I'm trying to hold on to tonight.

We are excited about Beata earning this honor and this is a great way to start off the season, both for her and the team. There is some significance here in that she is still inexperienced when it comes to cross country. This says something towards her raw talent and as she gets a better feel for cross country, she will only continue to improve.

All year long I was worried about if we were gonna go out and show our youth. We did that a little bit today at the start, but we showed a lot of maturity to get in that hole and dig ourselves out. I believe we really matured as a team today.

I've heard a lot worse in my time at Yale. I guess that one's an honor.
