It's been our hope all along to see the state take over management of wolves.

They have a rightful place here. They belong here and they'll be here for a long time to come.

They have such a network of people across the state and it's normally been a handful of federal managers.

The ultimate goal is to provide in 5 years a sound scientific basis for the management of the barrier islands here and also around the United States.

We're going to be working hard on improving our course management skills and we hope to peak at the end of the year. Right now, we just need to learn how to prepare ourselves mentally.

My hope is that the decisions being made by the Land Management Committee are the correct ones and that it is I who has judgment that is flawed.
