It's certainly unusual for anyone to stay in one place for so long. I've had the great fortune of working at a great place with amazing leaders who had a wonderful vision for RPI that I was lucky to be a part of making a reality.

I couldn't pass up the chance to work with someone who just came from putting people on the moon. Low energized the place with a lot of novel ideas.

It was really exciting for a young guy, just out of college, to be part of something that was recognized all over the world.

He was a brilliant producer who made a fortune and, of course, lost every cent in hare-brained investments, ... And he was in love with the male ingénue in the theatrical troupe; the only downside was the ingénue was, by this time, about 52, and he kept insisting on playing 18-year-olds. This guy insisted every season on doing two Shakespeare plays, and invariably somebody tried to murder him during the performance because, strangely enough, Shakespeare wasn't big in the mining camps.

It's not big and glamorous and there's not a fortune to be made in it, but if you run your business right you can make money and you can tell stories.

I've had an awful lot of good fortune.
