It's easy to tell a story than to read a story. Then again, to tell a story you must read it. But, not if you have seen it.

As the poets say, stories are truth told through lies.

We are the stories we tell ourselves.

If you didn't like your own life, you changed it. You ran away. You did something spectacular. you didn't steal someone else's story and pretend it was yours.

When fear and cold make a statue of you in your bed, don’t expect hard-boned and fleshless truth to come running to your aid. What you need are the plump comforts of a story. The soothing, rocking safety of a lie.

If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people.
