It's extremely different. I can't do 50 percent of the things inside that I'm doing outside with my kids. It's apples and dump trucks, just completely different.

Being named head coach is an honor, and it's something that I've looked forward to. Honestly, I can't wait to get started. I was lucky enough to be coaching under Bill, and so I have a good grasp of the program, school and community.

It's neat to watch my dad with the younger kids just starting out. He helps them a lot at first with things like how to line up their sights, like he taught me. It's good to be able to learn from good coaches who teach you the right way to shoot and how to be safe with firearms.

I like the area, I like the kids, I like my employer.

They had double the kids that we had out there, but we had seven kids that worked hard on the court and gave 100 percent. You know they make mistakes, but I think they played well, maybe not totally up to their potential, but I think that will come.

I expect it to be a playoff-type atmosphere. We don't ever talk about the computer ratings, but the kids are aware of them.
