It's going to be an excellent time, a really fun evening, and that's what we want -- excellent food, outstanding wines and a good time in addition to all of it.

If I don't make it on opening day, I'll be there the next day, Friday evening is a great time to shop.

I tell people the public library is a lot like public broadcasting. We depend more and more on the public for funding. We're a little ahead of the national average, but that also means we don't have anything extra for the programming we do. We're stretched. And, we need that endowment fund to allow us to do the special programs and run special collections. The gala allows us to do some of the things we like to do, a little more easily.

I'm ready. I went out and bought a dress, and I'm ready to go.

That's a fun, really nice part of the evening.
