It's good to see public education taking more risks ... but it is a very delicate balance. Meanwhile, it's the students and their families that are hurt.

Education...beyond all other devices of human origin, is a great equalizer of conditions of men --the balance wheel of the social machinery...It does better than to disarm the poor of their hostility toward the rich; it prevents being poor.

It's all about balance. The middle school and high school students are the ones that most often skip breakfast. They just need to eat regularly. I'll get students sent to me in the morning because they have a stomach or a headache and it's because they didn't eat breakfast.

We need to create a niche different from the NCAA. The NAIA is about students first, about their education.

There's a whole series of students across the state for whom higher education isn't even on the radar screen. This will make it affordable.

I would really like to improve the overall education for students at Ohio State by providing something out of the classroom that's really meaningful.
