It's got everything. It's got all the essential elements of metal fantasy art: a scary demon, dead bodies, and an elongated weapon. We wanted to have a chapter of album covers featuring men with swords, but there were too many of them.

I'd usually add stuff in. That's why I tell you I like to get in the fantasy art. Say a small girl, a ring of flowers around her or a bunch of vines. I did one where I turned a man's family — I put his daughter in the middle and her two children like a boy with a bow, like cupid, and a daughter throwing flowers out of a basket. He wanted wings. So I just went with my own imagination.

Right and wrong matters little when survival matters most.

Looking back, it's completely ludicrous. But at the age of 13 or 14 I took this all very seriously. Death, blood and mayhem were at the centre of my world.

Models are there to look like mannequins, not like real people. Art and illusion are supposed to be fantasy.
