It's just a situation where he's run out of time on PUP active status. He had some more surgery done on that knee. They took out a plate and screws. Both (head coach Dick Vermeil) and I saw it and it was pretty substantial. I don't know how he moved around with that.

The surgery went well. ... They don't think there's any type of concussion or anything like that, but where his status is for Sunday, I'm not really sure.

He does not foresee a situation in which he would run for governor at this time.

That's a tough situation to come off. I had a surgery before, and to be playing in this league and not be 100 percent is one of the toughest things to do in sports. ... But it's something you have to deal with. It's something you have to figure out, 'How can I help that team? How can I help my team?' There are other ways that you have to find, ways to help your team get better.

The PUP is now out of that loop.
