It's just a transition period. April can still bring some (snowy) stuff here when it gets pretty cold.

It's so empowering for that to happen under the supervision of young adults who aren't their parents. Campers become part of a special club of children who don't need parental supervision.

Good camps fulfill a parent's number one concern -- safety -- while supplying experiences and lessons in character and friendship that parents can't provide on their own. Good camps also provide a positive and inclusive atmosphere in which to grow that satisfies a child's need to belong through secret handshakes, cheers, rituals or competition.

There are some pretty nice-looking holes there.

This is still a pretty raw team. I still don't think we're where we need to be in terms of jelling, but the energy and enthusiasm is helping us until we get there.

He's ready. I think he feels pretty good.
