It's just amazing that we had one. For a stingray to have a baby and to be even bred they have to have very optimal water conditions.

A stingray has a gestation period of about nine months. So, either it came pregnant or it happened right after it got here.

I just thought I'd been feeding them too much. Their stomach and uterus are in the same area so the last thing on my mind was to find a baby stingray.

Saturday was great, and doing it with one we bred made it even better. Now you start to think [about the Derby]. It would be a real thrill even to get there, so this is very exciting.

It's amazing the little things you can use, like one of my flowers out there [in the backyard]. He would dry a leaf and use it for a model.

It's one tiny baby step forward.
