The festival also helps to keep alive this music that is historically considered America's contribution to music.

What are some of your most fondest memories of the Yamboree festival?,

There's someone who's going to be very motivated to do well against his hometown team.

We know that South by Southwest doesn't care about us. That festival is not about hometown heroes. It's about bands from everywhere else but Austin, for the most part. The last couple of years we're not even close to Austin when South by Southwest starts.

I've never seen so many show up for a fire. It's like the street festival.
