It's started out west, but flu season hits here usually in late January or February.

Usually January and February are slow months, but not this year.

I think if we still get rain late in January or early in February, a decent amount, we may be able to make up what was lost. If it is too far into February, it is too close to the onset of nesting.

We usually see our first confirmed cases in December, with peak activity in January [and into] early February.

We've still got a healthy supply of vaccine, and all anyone has to do is make an appointment to come in. If you haven't done it, there's still time. It takes at least two weeks for the vaccine to take full effect, so if you get one now, you should be ready by the height of the season.

Keep the hands washed, and away from the face. Cover your mouth if you cough or sneeze, and if you get sick - stay home.
