It's the effort you put forward and how creative you are. I've had several students with a 3.3 and a 21 ACT who didn't qualify for an academic scholarship but put forward the effort and got $5,000.

She must've been in here every week, filling in applications, but it paid off. Of course, she had a 4.0 average and a 30-plus on her ACT, but it wasn't just that. She worked at it.

It's hard to keep track of scholarships because there's no main database. I get out and look for them, but (students) have to look, too.

This has been completely a team effort from the entire staff, students and parents. We've wanted to make this a positive and fun week for everyone.
