It's the worst fire season in recorded history in the Western Cape.

With fire you can teach people forever about the dangers of fire and still see people in their grand cars throwing cigarette butts out of windows and those are the people with degrees, so-called well-educated people.

This is very good news for professional fire management in the Western Cape especially, as these have been the most severe fires ever recorded in the region.

What's very concerning is that two of these big fires started with kids playing around, doing things they weren't supposed to.

The industrial real estate market completed one of its strongest demand cycles in history as several factors ignited the fire. For projects coming on line in 2005, record-low interest rates during the design phase 12 to 18 months prior provided additional incentive for development and absorption.

We serve as a research center. But our most important role is education. We teach the history of the fire service - and we teach fire safety. That's the most important component.
