It's what gives us the edge. We're always trapping, always pressuring the ball.

I think we're one of the top four teams in the state along with Holbrook, Winslow and Fountain Hills. Everything has to be perfect - the moon, the stars - and we have to be healthy. But can we do it this year? Yes. If we continue to play team basketball and team defense, I don't see why not.

I haven't seen a better player in 3A this (season). He's an exceptional athlete for his size. He's very versatile. He understands the game really well. He's not just a talent running around not knowing how to use that talent.

Jeff is the glue to my team. I'd say he's the smartest player I've ever had the privilege of coaching. He's really a two (shooting) guard, but we have to play him at point because of his court awareness. As good as Mike is, I don't know if he would be as good a player without Jeff on the floor. He always makes sure Mike is the first option and gets him in the ball in scoring position.

Their next four years are hidden from us, but they are not hidden from you, ... You know the challenges and opportunities they will face. Give them a clear mind, a warm heart, calmness in the midst of turmoil, reassurance in times of discouragement and your presence always.

We're hoping it misses us completely.
