I've always been a student of this life, not a teacher. More of a sponge than a fountain.

What is it about possessing things? Why do we feel the need to own what we love? And why do we become such jerks when we do? We've all been there. You want something, you possess it - and by possessing it, you lose it.

All subjects are the same. I memorize notes for a test, spew it, ace it, then forget it. What makes this scary for the future of our country is that I'm in the tip-top percentile on every standardized test. I'm a model student with a very crappy attitude about learning.

Active students are the best teachers.

Student engagement is the product of motivation and active learning. It is a product rather than a sum because it will not occur if either element is missing.

If you wanted to be the best then you had to swallow your pride and become a student of the game first.
