I've asked some property owners to open up their land for bonfires and music so kids have a safe place to hang out. We could open up a gate and do vehicle checks in and out to make sure they arrive and leave sober. I haven't had any takers.

Supervision is good. But if it's invasive, they're going to want to go somewhere else.

We've taken calls from people with vacant land ready to use, but we also look for existing mobile parks because they already have the utilities to hook into.

I think, too often, kids are not exposed to the environment, where there is wide-open land, fresh streams and forests. What we do in an urban area like this does have an effect on that. If I can stimulate that curiosity and create a concern for the environment, that will have a great political and social change for the rest of their lives.

Oh, absolutely, ... because, you know, the Bible teaches that God made land animals on day six, alongside of Adam and Eve.
