I've become a better pitcher because I've learned to economize, ... I can throw four or five days in a row, and when Felipe (Alou) gets me up, I almost always come into the game, so there isn't a lot of wasted energy.

We said we had to win five in a row. We've got four done ... feels a lot better than it did at 5-6. We're playing at a high level at the right time and what we've got to do is get to the big dance and see what happens at that point. All we're asking for is a shot.

I'm not a strikeout pitcher. There are just some days when things are going well and it just all falls into place.

To have to wait four or five days is unimaginable. It makes you sick. But this is something that is part of the biosphere. This is God's planet. This is his nature.

We'll take the four in a row however we can get it.

I never knew how to throw a fastball, never learned how to throw a curveball, a slider, split-finger, whatever they're throwing nowadays. I was a one-pitch pitcher.
