I've been a waitress since I was 15 years old. I started at what used to the Dutch Kitchen at the corner of West Grand Avenue and Fourth Street.

Our business has been really slow, and now that they've caught the guy, I hope people start coming back downtown. They need to feel safe, and now I think they can feel safe.

I'm open to suggestions from any customer. They can bring me grandma's recipe and I'll try it.

My baked lemon chicken and pork chops with sauerkraut are popular as is the pies. Every day we bake six to eight pies including cake and brownies.

We want a home town place where everyone feels comfortable, knows everyone and speaks to each other.

I have kids sign the walls so they would feel like it's their place too. We get a lot of families and college students and we are hoping they will come back this year.
