I've seen different schools and interacted with different disciplines.

The public schools bring the community together and make it more vibrant. I feel that this is an excellent opportunity to serve the community by serving on the Board of Education.

Everyone tells me that I shouldn't have retired. I guess in a way I haven't ­ I enjoy taking classes and volunteering.

You have to get the word out, whether through cooperative extension or (the USDA program) Team Nutrition in the schools. Teachers and parents should know that these materials are there and can be incorporated into activities for the classroom or home.

I'm proud of the schools. I'm proud of the teachers.
