This team exceeded my expectations of what I thought we'd be able to do this year. Tonight we didn't shoot the ball with confidence, and we didn't take care of some of the most basic things you need to take care of in playoff basketball. That's what happens with youth. You could tell that we'd never been this close before.

Our defense is much improved and our pitching is much improved. I can't say enough about them. We are a much different team now than we were a few weeks ago.

We felt that he got of jams the other night and he's our ace, so we were trying to let him get out of it (himself), but I was probably a hitter or two hitters too late (to pull him).
