Just bad bounces. Players were sprawled on the ground and the ball was bouncing around on both plays and it just happened to find its way into the net.

Besides throwing the ball around, it's also a good time for the players and coaches to meet each other and get to know each other better.

All year long we had the ball bouncing our way. You get a couple of balls and turnovers that ordinarily you probably wouldn't have gotten. It's just one of those things.

I don't have any tricky plays, I'd rather have tricky players.

He throws four pitches for strikes, he keeps the ball down, gets a lot of ground balls and he's a strikeout pitcher. He's got a lot of innings pitched in the minor leagues and ... he has developed the consistency that's needed to pitch at this level. We feel it's important he get his feet on the ground up here (in St. Louis) for the time in the future when he's a starter.

Defensively, it would be a big uplift. He plays hard. He bounces off walls. He doesn't leave anything out there.
