Just like families must live within their budgets, the Federal Government must live within its means. We have passed appropriations bills that have been fiscally responsible while recognizing our national priorities.

The No. 1 purpose of the federal government is national defense.

The federal government was responsible for building the levees, engineering the levees, and consequentially, the federal government is responsible for repairing the damage that has been done, which has not been completed yet.

It's not tyranny we desire; it's a just, limited, federal government.

I don't bow down to the federal government.

But no one has yet succeeded in reducing the size or scope of the federal government.
