We're the first post-segregation generation.

The response on the east coast and in the mid-west has been tremendous. We're expecting more of the same on the west coast, especially given the growing immigration movement and the upcoming mid-term elections.

The issue of race has shifted with this generation. Young people recognize that when it comes to race a more enlightened perspective should increasingly be part of the national discourse.

To me, the problem is not the young people; the problem is we as a society continue to buckle to [corporate interests]. As a society, we are failing our young people. Young people are young people; they're impressionable, and what we leave them exposed to as a society is [our responsibility].

So these are the dynamics we're dealing with.
