Life isn't easy. We've all had situations where we needed emotional support from a friend. Consider if you did not have a friend to hold your hand when times got tough.

It is difficult every year to select one winner in each category because there are so many people who give so much of their time and energy to the well-being of the community. With close to 80 nominations this year and all of them extremely deserving of the award, it was exceptionally difficult for the committee.

The two women are still meeting today. There were some rough times, but now they cherish their time together. The two continue to put their heads together and solve problems that come up. Most importantly, they've become friends.

I am proud of the President's leadership. I am proud to support him in saying: Yes, we are going to do what is necessary now when it is less painful and less expensive.
