Martin was really steadfast in who he was, both personally and professionally. That was a source of strength for him. He didn't always fit in, and he was perfectly at peace with that.

We've even got a list of about 15 people who've helped us out, giving us $20 or offering to give us furniture when we get settled down. We just thought that if we got their information, we could give something back to them once we get straightened out here in Katy.

I think I had somewhere around 24 spots. I thought something like a mosquito had gotten into the house and bit me.

Who wants to die? Everything struggles to live. Look at that tree growing up there out of that grating. It gets no sun, and water only when it rains. It's growing out of sour earth. And it's strong because its hard struggle to live is making it strong. My children will be strong that way.

Strength is not something you have, it's something you find.
